Taiwan keeping close eye on China's military drill: MND
Taipei, March 2 (CNA) Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense (MND) said Thursday that it was closely monitoring a military exercise being conducted by China near the Japanese island of Miyako-jima.
The naval and air exercise Thursday morning included drills by a range of fighter aircraft, early warning and air surveillance planes, H-6K bombers, frigates, destroyers and supply ships in an area south of Miyako-jima, the MND said.
Although the drill was being held outside Taiwan's air defense identification zone (ADIZ), the military is staying on top the development and closely monitoring the exercise, the defense ministry said.
Miyako-jima is located approximately 300 kilometers southwest of Okinawa Island.
