Taipei, Sept. 8 (CNA) Taiwan Lottery will add NT$400 million (US$12.57 million) in prizes to three popular games for a Mid-Autumn Festival promotion, including 70 additional NT$1 million prizes for its Lotto 6/49 game, the company said Tuesday.
The promotion will run from Sept. 15 to Oct. 23, with 12 Lotto 6/49 draws offering 70 special NT$1 million prizes in total, Taiwan Lottery President Hsieh Chih-hong (謝志宏) said.
For each special draw, an additional set of eight numbers will be drawn. Anyone matching six of the eight numbers will win NT$1 million.
If multiple tickets win the same special prize, the prize money will be divided among the winners, the company said.
A total of 6,000 new bonus prizes of NT$5,000 will also be offered during the promotion. Players who match five of the eight special numbers will win NT$5,000, which is a fixed prize and will not be shared among winners.
The Bingo Bingo game will offer higher prizes from Sept. 25 to Oct. 11, while the "39 Happy Lottery" will raise the prize for correctly guessing two of the five numbers drawn from NT$1,125 to NT$1,500 for 12 draws starting Oct. 12.
Taiwan Lottery said the three-game promotion will provide a total of NT$400 million in additional prize money.
This year's Mid-Autumn Festival weekend starts on Sept. 25.
