Taiwan shares surge to end above 13,500 points

Shares in Taiwan soared more than 200 points to close above the 13,500 point mark Monday with buying focused on the bellwether electronics sector, led by contract chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), dealers said.
