Hon Hai employees in Taiwan receive yearly income of NT$2.7 million

Taipei, June 2 (CNA) The average yearly income of Taiwan employees at Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., the world's largest contract electronics maker, was NT$2.727 million (US$90,400) in 2019, according to data from the Market Observation Post System (MOPS).

The figure includes employees' base salary, bonuses and stock dividends, and is a drop for Taiwan employees at Hon Hai, who received an average yearly income of NT$3.23 million in 2018.

Factoring in pensions and insurance payments, the 4,105 Hon Hai employees in Taiwan received an average income of NT$2.974 million last year, according to MOPS.

Among the benefits Hon Hai employees receive is a subsidy of NT$15,000 a month per child for those who have children under the age of 6, which began in February 2020.

Previously, the program provided subsidies to employees with children under the age of 3. In 2019, subsidies were paid for almost 500 children of eligible employees, amounting to a total of nearly NT$20 million.

Meanwhile, Taiwanese employees at Foxconn Technology Co., a subsidiary of Hon Hai, earned NT$3.45 million on average in 2019, a drop of more than 40 percent from the average income of NT$5.96 million they made in 2018.
