Approaching earthquake alert takes over 12 seconds on apps

Although earthquake notification apps have become a big hit among mobile device users after a magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck southern Taiwan Feb. 6, causing hundreds of casualties, such apps in fact have their limit because the alert will take at least 12 seconds to reach them.
