Longtime New Taipei resident from Canada receives Taiwan citizenship

Pierre Loisel (劉力學), a Canadian who has been living in New Taipei for more than five decades, was naturalized Thursday, becoming the first non-clergy person in the city to be granted Taiwan citizenship without having to give up his own.
