Evergreen Group founder dies aged 90

Taipei, Jan. 20 (CNA) Chang Yung-fa (張榮發), founder of shipping giant Evergreen Group, died at the age of 90 on Wednesday, the conglomerate announced.

"All Evergreen Group members felt distressed and reluctant to part with him," the group said. The cause of death was not disclosed.

Chang founded the conglomerate in 1968, offering shipping, transportation and related services.

Note: Chang was born Oct. 6, 1927. It is a common custom in Taiwan to round up the age when a person passes away.
