Sharing Christmas wishes from Taiwan

Dec. 25 is once again a national holiday in Taiwan after a 24-year hiatus, not because of Christmas Day but because it is Constitution Day, which lawmakers voted earlier this year to restore as a national holiday. To most people in Taiwan, however, Dec. 25 is still Christmas. CNA spoke to local residents, foreign workers and tourists in Taipei about what the holiday means to them and their Christmas wishes. Two people also reflected on how they perceived the holiday season in the wake of deadly knife attacks by a 27-year-old man at MRT Taipei Main Station and in Zhongshan District on Dec. 19. The gruesome attacks left three people dead and the man also died trying to escape police pursuit.
