Documentary tells 'forgotten' story of Taiwan's 1st Olympic medalist

In the documentary “Decathlon: The CK Yang & Rafer Johnson Story” he co-wrote and narrated, former CNN Senior Asia Correspondent Mike Chinoy chronicles the forgotten legacy of Yang Chuan-kwang, Taiwan’s first Olympic medalist, who won silver in the decathlon at the 1960 Rome Olympics. Speaking with CNA, Chinoy discussed why he made the film, available on the TaiwanPlus Docs YouTube channel, and shared his thoughts on Yang's close friendship with American athlete and civil rights icon Rafer Johnson, who took gold in the same event.
