Taiwan's COVID-19 doctors and nurses sing, speak

Taiwan's doctors and nurses have been battling COVID-19 since January 2020. In the past month, their fight against the coronavirus has intensified as the first major hospital cluster infection at Taoyuan General Hospital infected doctors, nurses, patients and family members. Many medical staff at the hospital have been placed in quarantine and their colleagues at other medical units are on high alert. Despite the pressure, several young nurses and trainee doctors from the Taoyuan hospital and other hospitals recently teamed up to produce a video in which they sang a song written by famous Taiwanese-American singer Wang Leehom to support the fight against the SARS outbreak in 2003. At the same time, Hung Chih-hao, a nurse at National Taiwan University Hospital’s infectious diseases isolation ward, shared with CNA what it’s like to be working on the frontline.
