Taipei, June 5 (CNA) Taipei Zoo will close for 10 days from June 22 to July 1 for maintenance work and preparations for its summer peak season, the zoo said Friday.
The closure will allow for major renovations to be carried out while minimizing disruption to resident animals, the zoo said in a news release.
On Saturdays in July and August, the zoo will open until 9 p.m. instead of 5 p.m., with special events planned on those Saturdays, as part of a program that began in 2006.

To mark the program's 20th anniversary, the zoo is encouraging past visitors to submit photos by June 15 for use in a "memory lane" exhibition at the Children's Zoo by the Taipei Zoo's entrance.
