Taipei, April 25 (CNA) Rainy and cooler weather is expected to persist across Taiwan on Saturday before conditions stabilize the next day, bringing cloudy to sunny skies and rising temperatures, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA).
Brief showers and possible thunderstorms are expected in central and southern Taiwan during the day, with a chance of heavier downpour, while other areas will see localized scattered rain, the CWA said.
Lows are forecast to be around 19-20 degrees Celsius in northern, northeastern and eastern Taiwan, and 21-23 degrees elsewhere, it added.
Independent meteorologist Wu Der-rong (吳德榮), echoing the CWA, said Taiwan will still be affected by a weather front on Saturday, with a chance of localized showers and heavier rain before rainfall gradually eases in the evening.
Wu said the weather front will move away on Sunday and Monday, bringing sunny and hot conditions with rising temperatures, while the eastern half of the island may still see brief showers.
According to the meteorologist, partly cloudy to sunny weather can be expected on Tuesday, with a chance of afternoon showers in mountainous areas and eastern Taiwan.
However, another weather front is expected to arrive on Wednesday afternoon, bringing showers and thunderstorms and a sudden change in weather before quickly moving east on Thursday, with conditions turning partly cloudy after rain and cooler weather in northern Taiwan, Wu said.
