Taipei, Sept. 5 (CNA) The Taipei District Court on Friday ordered the release of former Taiwan People's Party Chairman Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) on NT$70 million (US$2.29 million) bail.

Ko and Taipei City Councilor Ying Hsiao-wei (應曉薇), who was granted NT$30 million bail by the court, must stay only at registered addresses, wear devices equipped with a GPS tracking system and not leave the country, per the conditions of their release.
Ko and Ying, indicted in the Core Pacific City case, are also barred from contacting other defendants or witnesses while on bail.
