Taipei, Aug. 22 (CNA) Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) has approved the departure of Minister of Digital Affairs Yennun Huang (黃彥男), Cabinet spokesperson Michelle Lee (李慧芝) confirmed Friday.
Huang, on secondment at the Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) from Taiwan's Academia Sinica, is to return to the national research academy's Research Center for Information Technology, according to the ministry.
Lee said that Cho was grateful for Huang's work during the latter's tenure as Taiwan's digital affairs minister.
The spokesperson, however, did not say when Huang would be leaving his post or who would succeed him as minister.
Huang became the second head of MODA after succeeding Minister Audrey Tang (唐鳳) on May 20, 2024.
In a Friday news release, MODA highlighted Huang's three main accomplishments during his time, which were the strengthening of Taiwan's digital resilience, developing Taiwan's digital economy and his proactive stance to combat digital fraud.
MODA added it was grateful for Huang's hard work and that it would continue Huang's efforts into the future.
