
Taipei, June 25 (CNA) Taipei Zoo will extend its nighttime opening hours to 9 p.m. during the summer vacation for eight consecutive Saturdays from July 5 to Aug. 23 and there will also be night tickets available for purchase from 4:30 p.m.to 8 p.m. for NT$60 (US$2.04), the zoo said Wednesday.
The zoo's regular opening hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the last entry at 4 p.m. However, it will remain open until 9 p.m. during the summer months, according to the extended Saturday schedule posted on its official website.
The zoo is closed to the public from June 18 to 27 for annual maintenance and environmental renovations.
According to Taipei Zoo, visitors who enter the park before the night ticket sales begin can stay until closing time without needing to purchase the special starlight tickets. Regular daytime ticket prices are NT$100 for general admission, NT$50 for concession tickets and NT$60 for Taipei residents. On Saturdays, the starlight ticket is a flat rate of NT$60.
During the extended hours, the zoo will offer themed activities dubbed "cool summer with animals," featuring eight species: hippos, false gharials, amphibians and reptiles, Eurasian otters, Malayan tigers, African penguins, Asian elephants and orangutans.
