Lunar New Year garbage collection schedules in Taiwan's major cities

Taipei, Jan. 15 (CNA) Garbage and recycling schedules will vary over the Jan. 25 to Feb. 2 Lunar New Year holiday. CNA has compiled the following collection information from the governments of Taiwan's six special municipalities.

Taipei

Regular service: Jan. 27-28 (Mon-Tue)

No service: Jan. 29-31 (Wed-Fri)

Extra service: Feb. 1 (Sat)

Regular service resumes: Feb. 3 (Mon)

New Taipei

Regular service: Jan. 27 (Mon)

Adjusted service time: Jan 28 (Tue) -- garbage collection will begin in the morning and end at 6 p.m.

No service: Jan. 29-31 (Wed-Fri)

Regular service resumes: Feb. 1 (Sat)

Note: Garbage can be dropped off at 70 designated locations across New Taipei from Jan. 29-31

Taoyuan

Regular service: Jan. 27 (Mon)

Adjusted service time: Jan. 28 (Tue) -- garbage collection will begin at 9 a.m. No collection in the evening.

No service: Jan. 29-31 (Wed-Fri)

Extra service: Feb. 1 (Sat) -- garbage collection will begin at 9 a.m. No collection in the evening.

Regular service resumes: Feb. 3 (Mon)

Note: Fuxing Township will operate on a different collection schedule.

Taichung

Extra service: Jan. 26 (Sun) -- roadside collection only

Regular service: Jan. 27 (Mon)

Adjusted collection schedule: Jan. 28 (Tue) -- daytime collection only

No service: Jan. 29 (Wed)

Collection at designated locations only: Jan. 30-31 (Thur-Fri)

Regular service resumes: Feb. 1 (Sat)

Tainan

Adjusted collection schedule: Jan. 28 (Tue) -- collection begins 4 hours early. Recycling collection on Tue, Sat route

No service: Jan. 29-31 (Wed-Fri)

Extra service: Feb. 1 (Sat) -- garbage collection from 8 a.m. with recycling collection on Mon, Thur route. In the evening, regular garbage collection with recycling collection on Tue, Sat route.

Kaohsiung
