Kaohsiung, Nov. 13 (CNA) A 21-year-old suspect has been arrested for allegedly selling fake tickets for the Coldplay concerts held in Kaohsiung on Nov. 11 and 12, police said on Monday.

The individual, identified by his last name Wei (魏), was caught on the spot after he completed a transaction with a customer at the high-speed rail Zuoying Station on Sunday, the Zuoying police precinct said in a news release.

Three fake tickets, a smartphone and NT$10,000 (US$308) in cash were seized as evidence.

The incident came to light after a buyer reported being scammed by an online seller to authorities.

According to police, the buyer only realized his ticket for the Saturday show wasn't real after he noticed the QR code wouldn't scan.

The fake tickets, which Wei sold for between NT$4,000 and NT$5,000, had numerous typos and incorrect information on them, police said, adding that there were likely other suspects involved in the case.

The case has been referred to the Ciaotou District Prosecutors Office for further investigation, police said.
