Some 1,300 households in Taiwan without power due to typhoon

More than 1,300 households had no electricity as of midday Thursday, as Typhoon Khanun bore down on Taiwan with strong winds and rain, causing outages in 13,577 homes, according to Taiwan Power Co. (Taipower).
