Local pricing for new iPhones announced, pre-orders to begin Sept. 13
San Francisco, Sept. 10 (CNA) Apple Inc. announced the prices of its new iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro for the Taiwan market Tuesday, after the products were unveiled in the United States earlier in the day, with online orders scheduled to start Sept. 13 before the latest smartphones become available locally on Sept. 20.
The 6.1-Inch LCD iPhone 11 will start at NT$24,900 (US$790) for a 64GB model, NT$2,000 cheaper than the iPhone XR, according to Apple's Taiwan official website.
The 5.8-Inch OLED iPhone 11 Pro, featuring Apple's new triple cameras, will have an initial price of NT$35,900 for a 64GB model and a bigger 6.5-Inch OLED iPhone 11 Pro Max for a 64GB model has a starting price of NT$39,900, it noted.
The most expensive model is the 6.5-Inch OLED iPhone 11 Pro Max with 512GB storage, which is priced at NT$52,400, NT$500 cheaper than the iPhone XS Max with the same storage a year ago.
Local consumers can pre-order the phones at Apple's online retail store from 8 p.m., Sept. 13 before the latest models hit stores in Taiwan on Sept. 20.
In addition to unveiling its new iPhones, Apple Watches and an iPad at its annual September product launch on Tuesday, the U.S. tech giant also announced the arrival of Apple Arcade on Sept. 19, which will offer a library of over 100 games users can play on iPhones, iPads, Macs and Apple TV.
The new subscription service will be available at a price of NT$170 per month in Taiwan.
