Taipei, June 2 (CNA) A T-34 trainer aircraft crashed Tuesday morning at Gangshan Air Base in Kaohsiung during a training mission, killing two pilots, according to the Air Force Command Headquarters.
In a statement, the Air Force said the aircraft, bearing tail number 3414, was flown by Lt. Col. Lu (盧) and Lt. Col. Kuo (過) on a simulated engine-failure route training mission.
The aircraft crashed near the northern end of the runway at 8:08 a.m., killing both pilots, the Air Force said.
The Air Force said it has formed a special task force to investigate the cause of the crash.
