Taipei, June 1 (CNA) Czech Senate President Miloš Vystrčil arrived in Taiwan on Monday for a four-day visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas such as politics, business, education and culture.
Vystrčil and his 40-member delegation were greeted by Deputy Foreign Minister François Wu (吳志中) upon arrival at Taoyuan International Airport at 5:04 a.m. The Senate president waved to reporters but did not give any comments.
Prior to his arrival, Vystrčil said he had been invited by Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) to visit Taiwan.
During his four-day visit, Vystrčil said, he is scheduled to meet with representatives from both the ruling Democratic Progressive Party and the opposition Kuomintang to advance cross-party exchanges.

The delegation will also meet with President Lai Ching-te (賴清德), Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴), senior government officials, and representatives from the business, academic, and cultural sectors, Vystrčil said.
The Czech Senate leader, who is on his second visit to Taiwan following a trip in August 2020, also said he expects to meet with former President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文).
Vystrčil said the visit would focus on expanding cooperation through business discussions, the signing of memorandums of understanding, and increased exchanges in the field of education and culture.
