Swedish parliamentarian group visits Taiwan, to attend National Day events
Taipei, Oct. 6 (CNA) A group of Swedish parliamentarians is visiting Taiwan from Sunday through next Saturday, during which they will attend a series of events celebrating the Republic of China (Taiwan)'s National Day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) said Monday.
The 11-member cross-party delegation is led by Alexandra Anstrell and joined by Maria Stockhaus, Staffan Eklöf, Alexandra Völke, Hanna Gunnarsson, Ann-Sofie Lifvenhage, Nima Gholam Ali Pour, Johnny Svedin, Malin Höglund, Erik Hellsborn, and Johanna Rantsi, MOFA said in a press release.
During their stay, the parliamentarians will meet with Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴), Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) and Deputy Foreign Minister François Wu (吳志中), and will attend events celebrating the ROC National Day on Oct. 10, MOFA said.
They will also meet with Mainland Affairs Council Deputy Minister Shen Yu-chung (沈有忠) and Civil Aeronautics Administration Director-General Ho Shu-ping (何淑萍), as well as visit the military-funded think tank, the Institute for National Defense and Security Research, and the Taiwan FactCheck Center, MOFA added.
