Taipei, Sept. 14 (CNA) A group of French senators led by French Senate Taiwan Friendship Group chair Rachid Temal has arrived in Taiwan for a six-day trip, during which they will meet with Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced on Sunday.

During their stay in Taiwan from Sunday through Friday, the delegation will also attend two banquets hosted by Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) and Deputy Foreign Minister François Wu (吳志中), respectively, MOFA said in a press release.

The group, which also consists of senators Jean-Michel Arnaud, François Bonneau, Bernard Buis, Yannick Jadot, and Mireille Jouve, will pay visits to the economics, defense, and environmental ministries, as well as Minister without Portfolio Audrey Tang (唐鳳) and the Taipei City government, MOFA said.

The French delegates are also scheduled to visit three main political parties in Taiwan, namely, the ruling Democratic Progressive Party, the main opposition Kuomintang (KMT), and the Taiwan People's Party (TPP), as well as the popular tourist site Sun Moon Lake.
