Ex-vice president named as Lai's envoy to Pope Francis' funeral

President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) has appointed former Vice President Chen Chien-jen (陳建仁) as his envoy to attend Pope Francis' upcoming funeral, Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) said in a statement Wednesday.
