Taipei, Sept. 24 (CNA) Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) left Taiwan Sunday morning to attend the World Cities Summit (WCS) Mayors Forum in Seoul, where he will give a speech on creativity and innovation.
"I have two missions for my visit-- one being urban diplomacy and the other youth development," Chiang told reporters before departing for the three-day forum from Taipei Songshan Airport.
According to Chiang, he will meet with Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon at the Sept. 24-26 forum to celebrate 55 years of sisterhood between the two capitals and sign a memorandum of understanding on youth affairs cooperation.
Chiang said he also planned to catch up with Tory Whanau, mayor of Taipei's other sister city, Wellington, during the forum.
The forum, which highlights inclusivity and sustainability in urban development this year, brings together about 200 participants, including some 50 mayors.
The forum is a fringe event organized as part of the biennial WCS, which was held last year in Singapore.
