Taipei, Aug. 3 (CNA) United States House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi will begin her whirlwind visit to Taiwan by visiting the Legislative Yuan Wednesday morning, after arriving in Taipei on Tuesday night.

Pelosi, who is leading a congressional delegation on a tour to Asia, is set to be received by Deputy Speaker Tsai Chi-chang (蔡其昌), according to the country's top legislative body.

Speaker You Si-kun (游錫堃) is in isolation after testing positive for COVID-19, and said in a Facebook post Wednesday morning that Pelosi's visit to Taiwan shows the U.S.' "rock solid" commitment to Taiwan.

During the visit, Pelosi will meet with caucus whips of the four political parties in the Legislature -- the ruling Democratic Progressive Party, main opposition Kuomintang, Taiwan People's Party and New Power Party.

The visit is live streamed by the Legislative Yuan.
