Paraguayan president rejects China, maintains ties with Taiwan: envoy

Paraguayan President Mario Abdo Benitez has chosen to maintain diplomatic relations with Taiwan despite efforts by the Chinese government to persuade Asuncion to switch allegiance, according to Paraguay's top envoy to Taiwan.
