Taipei, Oct. 5 (CNA) Taiwan-based manufacturing giant Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. said on Monday that its monthly sales passed the NT$1 trillion (US$31.50 billion) mark for the first time in September, largely based on the performance of its cloud and networking division during the current AI era.

In a statement, Hon Hai, also known as Foxconn globally, said it posted NT$1.15 trillion in consolidated sales in September, up 38.42 percent from a year earlier and up 25.70 percent from a month earlier.

The latest monthly sales smashed the previous record of NT$837.1 billion set in September 2025, Hon Hai said.

On a year-on-year basis, Hon Hai saw a significant improvement in revenue from cloud and networking products, electronic components and computing products, while sales posted by the smart consumer electronics division remained little changed as rising product prices affected shipments.

On a month-on-month basis, Hon Hai said its smart electronics division posted a strong increase in revenue as international brands debuted their new products in September. Analysts said Hon Hai, an iPhone assembler, was one of the largest beneficiaries of the launch of the iPhone 18 series by Apple Inc. last month.

In the third quarter of this year, Hon Hai's consolidated sales hit a record quarterly high of NT$3.03 trillion, up 47.12 percent from a year earlier and up 20.44 percent from a quarter earlier.

Hon Hai said its four major business divisions all reported robust growth in the third quarter.

In the first nine months of this year, the company generated NT$7.67 trillion in consolidated sales, up 39.53 percent from a year earlier.

Hon Hai said the current AI boom and traditional peak season in the global information and communications technology industry are expected to lend support to the company's performance in the fourth quarter, while it also urged investors to pay close attention to a fast-changing political and economic landscape which could affect demand.

At an investor conference held in mid-August, Hon Hai's rotating CEO Michael Chiang (蔣集恆) said AI rack shipments in 2026 are expected to more than double from 2025.

Currently, Hon Hai has a more than 40 percent share of the global AI server market.
