Taipei, June 2 (CNA) Taiwanese carrier Tigerair Taiwan announced on Tuesday that it will launch new routes connecting Kaohsiung with Ishigaki Island in Japan's Okinawa Prefecture, and Komatsu in its Ishikawa Prefecture.

The Kaohsiung-Ishigaki route will begin on Sept. 2, while the Kaohsiung-Komatsu route will be launched on Sept. 3.

Both routes will operate two round-trip flights per week, according to a company statement.

To celebrate the launch, promotional fares for the two routes will go on sale on Wednesday, the airline said.

With the addition of the two services, Tigerair Taiwan will operate 11 routes between Kaohsiung and destinations in Japan, the airline said.

The budget carrier added that it operates a total of 14 routes from Kaohsiung to international destinations, providing travelers in southern Taiwan with diverse travel options.
