Taiwan shares close at new high after early losses; TSMC rallies

Shares in Taiwan closed at a record high Monday after early losses behind a late rally by contract chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) on hopes it will have positive news at its investor conference Thursday, dealers said.
