Taipei, April 19 (CNA) HTC Corp. released its latest smartphone called Desire L Friday, along with Far EasTone Telecommunications Co., the third-largest telecom operator in Taiwan, being its sole provider.
Jack Tong, HTC North Asia-Pacific region president, said at the phone launch that his company hopes to attract more customers in the mid-tier smartphone market.
The phone, dubbed as the "Butterfly mini" in the market, features a 4.3-inch display and a 1 GHz dual-core processor. It is being sold outright for NT$10,900 (US$366). There is also the option of paying NT$2,990 plus an additional NT$897 monthly fee for a service plan.
Desire L was unveiled at the opening of a Far EasTone concept store in Taipei's bustling Ximending area, which is the telecom operator's 300th direct sales store in Taiwan.
