BASKETBALL / NBA Rising Stars Invitational to hold first Taiwan regional qualifier
Taipei, Jan. 19 (CNA) The NBA Rising Stars Invitational will hold its first Taiwan regional qualifier April 3-5 at Banqiao Gymnasium in New Taipei, the NBA and Videoland Television Network said Monday.
According to a news release, the event will determine the boys and girls high school teams that represent Taiwan at the 2026 NBA Rising Stars Invitational in Singapore this summer.
The qualifier will feature the top four boys and top four girls teams from Taiwan's High School Basketball League (HBL) in a three-day, single-elimination tournament, with the winning teams of each division advancing to the event in Singapore.
Players will also participate in skills development and community service activities, with appearances by a former NBA player, an NBA coach, and an NBA dance team, all to be announced ahead of the qualifier, the statement said.
