Taipei, Feb. 22 (CNA) Hsieh Su-wei is one win away from her first title of 2025 after she and Jeļena Ostapenko secured a spot in the women's doubles final at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships on Friday.
The third-seeded Taiwan-Latvia duo defeated China's Xu Yifan (徐一璠) and Yang Zhaoxuan (楊釗煊) 6-4, 4-6, 10-2 in 95 minutes.
Hsieh and Ostapenko will face Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic and Taylor Townsend of the United States in the WTA 1000 tournament final.
It will be a rematch of their Australian Open encounter in the final in late January, when Hsieh and Ostapenko lost 6-2, 6-7 (4), 6-3, meaning Hsieh failed to defend her title in Melbourne.
According to the draw, the final is set to begin at 8:30 p.m. (Taiwan time) on Saturday.
