Taipei, Dec. 31 (CNA) An exhibition celebrating Taiwan's historic championship victory at the WBSC Premier12 last month is set to open on Wednesday in Taipei, showcasing nearly 50 exhibits, including the coveted championship trophy.
The exhibition, titled "Behind the Champion," will run until March 2, 2025, at National Taiwan Museum, allowing visitors to "relive this nationwide story of glory," according to the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) in a press release Tuesday.
The exhibits will include championship medals, Team Taiwan's game-jerseys and equipment, and a replica of the championship trophy that fans can take photos with, the CPBL said.
At a pre-show ceremony on Tuesday, President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) expressed his pride in the team, stating that their demonstration of Taiwan's spirit through exceptional baseball skills on the international stage was a great honor for him as president.
Lai also announced that the team will be featured on the NT$500 (US$15) banknote, which currently displays the Nanwang Elementary School youth baseball team, winners of the PONY League World Series, after the release of commemorative coins.
