
Taipei, Aug. 10 (CNA) A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck off the coast of Hualien County in eastern Taiwan at 2:03 p.m. Sunday, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA).
The epicenter of the temblor was located at sea, about 25.3 kilometers south-southwest of the Hualien County Hall, at a depth of 15.3 km, CWA data showed.
There were no immediate reports of damage resulting from the quake.
The earthquake's intensity, which gauges the actual effect of a temblor, was highest in Hualien's Yanliao and Dowmung villages, where it measured 4 on Taiwan's 7-tier intensity scale.

The quake also measured an intensity of 3 in Nantou County and 2 in Taichung, Yilan, Changhua, Chiayi, Yunlin and Miaoli counties as well as Chiayi City.
