Tainan, July 7 (CNA) The Tainan City government announced Monday that work and classes will be suspended Tuesday in nine of the city's 37 districts: Yanshui, Dongshan, Houbi, Baihe, Beimen, Jiangjun, Xuejia, Qigu and Xigang due to the impact of Typhoon Danas.
Danas swept through southern Taiwan early Monday, causing flooding and power outages in some areas in the city, several of which have yet to be fully restored.
As post-flood cleanup and disaster recovery efforts are still ongoing, the city government issued a public notice for school and office closures in the nine districts in accordance with relevant regulations in order to ensure public safety.
All other areas of the city will operate as usual, it said.
