
Taipei, March 8 (CNA) A magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck Hualien County, eastern Taiwan, at 4:43 a.m. Saturday, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA).
There were no immediate reports of damage following the quake.
The epicenter was located 19.3 kilometers west southwest of Hualien County Hall at a depth of 19.3 km, CWA data showed.
The intensity of the quake, which gauges the actual effect of a seismic event, measured 4 on Taiwan's 7-tier intensity scale in some areas of Hualien County, according to the CWA.
The quake also measured an intensity of 2 in Nantou County in central Taiwan, and an intensity of 1 in Taichung City and Changhua County in central Taiwan and Yilan in the north east, the CWA said.
