Taipei, Dec. 11 (CNA) A China Airlines (CAL) flight from Kaohsiung to Takamatsu on Japan's Shikoku Island safely diverted to Osaka Monday morning after crew members discovered a crack in the plane's windshield, the Taiwanese carrier said Monday.
Crew on flight CI7760 noticed the crack during the flight and made the decision, in accordance with standard operating procedures, to land at the nearest airport, which happened to be Kansai International Airport on the outskirts of Osaka, CAL said in a statement.
After arriving in Osaka, CAL said, airline staff helped the flight's 153 passengers arrange transportation to their destinations.
Flight CI7760 departs Kaohsiung at 7:32 a.m. and arrives in Takamatsu at 11 a.m. local time on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
