Taiwan reports over 50,000 new COVID-19 cases, first time since June

Taiwan on Wednesday reported 54,929 new COVID-19 cases, the first time the daily number exceeded 50,000 since late June, and 48 deaths from the disease, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).
