Drought-stricken areas in central and southern Taiwan have received precipitation since midnight Tuesday thanks to the passage of a moist frontal system and strong northeasterly winds, but the rain could still be insufficient to quench the thirst of drying reservoirs, according to the Water Resources Agency (WRA).
