Nanmadol downgraded to tropical storm after landfall in Taiwan

Typhoon Nanmadol was downgraded to a  tropical storm early Monday, shortly after it made landfall near Dawu  in the eastern Taiwan county of Taitung, the Central Weather Bureau  (CWB) said.
