Taipei, Sept. 9 (CNA) Former President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) is visiting Japan on a personal trip, her office said Tuesday, declining to provide any further details about the tour.
"[This is a] personal trip by the president, with no official schedule planned," therefore, no related information will be disclosed, Tsai's office said in a brief statement, responding to reporters' questions about the visit.
It is Tsai's third overseas visit since leaving office in May 2024, following two trips to Europe. In October 2024, she traveled to Czechia, France and Belgium, and in May this year, she visited Lithuania and Denmark before continuing on to the United Kingdom.
