Taipei, Sept. 4 (CNA) Taiwan's representative to Sweden Gu Ruey-sheng (谷瑞生) has been appointed as the country's new representative to Germany.
The appointment comes after a Presidential Order on Aug. 28 reassigned former representative to Germany Shieh Jhy-Wey (謝志偉) to serve as representative to the European Union and Belgium, according to the Cabinet.
This marks the fourth time Gu has been assigned to the Taipei Representative Office in Germany, where he previously served as deputy representative as well as director of the office's political division.
Gu also previously served as section chief of the Department of European Affairs and executive secretary of the Research and Development Section at Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), with additional postings in Switzerland and Sweden.
