Taipei, April 6 (CNA) The first group of Luxembourg parliamentarians to visit Taiwan since 2019 arrived in Taipei Sunday and will meet with senior government officials to enhance bilateral relations, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).

The delegation led by Stéphanie Weydert also includes three fellow members of the Chamber of Deputies, the unicameral national legislature of Luxembourg -- Ben Polidori, Liz Braz and Ricardo Marques, MOFA said in a press release.

The group arrived at Taoyuan International Airport on Sunday morning and will meet with Vice Premier Cheng Li-chiun (鄭麗君), Deputy Legislative Speaker Johnny Chiang (江啟臣), Deputy Foreign Minister Chen Ming-chi(陳明祺) and several NGOs representatives before they depart on Friday.

The delegation will also engage in talks with the Taiwanese side on how to enhance bilateral relations, and issues relating to cross-Taiwan Strait relations, education, culture, and gender equality, MOFA added.

This is the first Luxembourg parliamentarian group to visit Taiwan since the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, MOFA said.
