Taiwan happy to see Sogavare victory in Solomon Islands PM election

Taiwan is glad to see veteran Solomon Islands politician Manasseh Sogavare winning Wednesday's prime minister election, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) said Thursday, saying that having "an old friend of Taiwan" serving in the post will solidify ties with the Pacific ally.
