Taiping Island to become low-carbon base for humanitarian work

Taiping Island, also known as Itu Aba, in the disputed Spratlys in the South China Sea, will serve as a low-carbon bastion for undertaking humanitarian tasks, General Wang Chung-yi (王祟儀), director of Coast Guard Administration (CGA), said Wednesday.
