Taipei, Feb. 1 (CNA) Kuomintang (KMT) Deputy Chairman Hsiao Hsu-tsen (蕭旭岑) will lead a delegation to Beijing from Monday to Wednesday for a think tank exchange with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), according to the main opposition party.

The delegation will include National Policy Foundation Deputy Chairman Lee Hong-yuan (李鴻源) and around 40 experts and scholars. The foundation is a think tank affiliated with the KMT.

The exchange is expected to focus on tourism, industrial cooperation and environmental sustainability, with discussions to cover travel, flight destinations, precision machinery, artificial intelligence, disaster prevention and mitigation, new energy, and carbon reduction.

According to a party source, the delegation is scheduled to attend a dinner with Song Tao (宋濤), director of China's Taiwan Affairs Office, on Monday evening, take part in a think tank forum on Tuesday, and visit Tsinghua University on Wednesday.

Whether the delegation will meet Wang Huning (王滬寧), chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, will depend on arrangements made by the host, the source added.
