Taipei, July 9 (CNA) Taiwan-based Asustek Computer Inc. (Asus) on Wednesday posted a 13-year high consolidated group revenue in June at NT$68.573 (US$2.35 billion), while another leading Taiwanese PC brand Acer Inc. announced the second highest monthly revenue for the year in June at NT$28.685 billion.

In a financial statement, Asus said that benefiting from strong demand for artificial intelligence (AI) servers and gaming products, consolidated group revenue reached NT$68.573 billion in June, up 8.5 percent month-on-month and 17.4 percent year-on-year, reaching a 13-year high.

Asus also reported second-quarter group revenue of NT$188 billion, up 30 percent year-on-year, with revenue for the first half of the year at NT$335.7 billion, a 25.9 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Asus noted that revenue from gaming products grew significantly in the second quarter, and AI server shipments also gradually increased, jointly driving overall revenue performance.

Meanwhile, Acer said in a press release that its consolidated revenue for June reached NT$28.685 billion, representing a 49.7 percent increase from the previous month and 1.8 percent growth from a year earlier.

For the first six months of this year, Acer's revenue reached NT$127.87 billion, up 1.5 percent year-on-year, with Chromebook laptop revenue registering a 21.2 percent annual increase.

The highlights of Acer's June operations include a year-on-year increase of 11.9 percent in laptop revenue, 19.3 percent in desktop revenue, 8.2 percent in Chromebook revenue and 7.9 percent in commercial PC revenue.

Acer said that its strategy to build multiple business engines continues to bear fruit, with non-PC and non-monitor businesses accounting for 26.8 percent of the group's revenue in June and 30.7 percent for the first half of this year.
