Taipei, Dec. 31 (CNA) The U.S. dollar ended at a new year-end high of NT$32.781 in nine years against the Taiwan dollar in 2024.
On Tuesday, the last trading session of the local foreign exchange market, the greenback rose NT$0.064 against the Taiwan dollar after moving between NT$32.750 and NT$32.800.
The greenback's closing level of NT$32.781 at the end of 2024 was the highest since the end of 2015, when the American currency ended at NT$33.066.
In 2024, the U.S. unit appreciated NT$2.046, or 6.24 percent, against the Taiwan dollar.
