Taiwan shares plunge despite emergency support for SVB deposits

Shares in Taiwan moved sharply lower Tuesday, hurt by heavy losses across global markets even as American financial regulators rushed in to ensure deposits at the collapsed Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) would be protected, dealers said.
